The Conservation and Restoration Department plays a fundamental role in achieving one of the Foundation’s main objectives, which is to conserve Salvador Dalí’s oeuvre in the finest possible condition for the future.

This department’s activity is carried out particularly in four spheres: preventive conservation and maintenance of the Dalinian collection and montages and installations at the Theatre-Museum in Figueres and the House-Museums at Portlligat and Púbol; restoration of paintings, drawings and objects; responsibility for conservation of pieces during exhibitions and loans of works, and for registering them; and finally, the tasks of documentation, drawing up of reports and own policy of research and training, providing technical advice to the other Foundation departments.
