The Dalí Theatre-Museum in Figueres celebrates this year too the Special Night Opening on 10 September from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. Last entrance is at 00:30 depending on attendance. It is a celebration in which museums and other cultural equipments open for free, the night before the national festival of Catalonia.

This year a new attraction can be admired, the painting The Figueres Fair that was acquired by the Foundation and presented to the media last 27 August.

The Fundació Gala-Salvador Dalí presented its last acquisition of a Dalí work: The Figueres Fair, from circa 1922.

From 7 August to 9 January 2011, the High Museum of Art in Atlanta hosts what can be considered the first exhibition focusing on the late work by Dalí, the one produced in the final 40 years of his career, under the title Dalí. The late work.

Organized by the High Museum, it benefits from the collaboration of Fundació Gala-Salvador Dalí and the Dalí museum in Saint Petersburg (Florida).

La Fundació Gala-Salvador Dalí informed today that this year down to 21 July the Dalí museums have received a total of 665,745 visitors, which means a growth of 5.13% compared to the same period last year.

By museums:

Dalí Theatre-Museum: 461,603 visitors, a growth of 2.63%

Dalí•Jewels Gallery: 99,306 visitors, 14.39% more than last year.

Gala Dalí Castle in Púbol: 43,238 visitors, a 13.43% more.

Salvador Dalí House in Portlligat: 51,597 visitors, 5.29% more.

The Foundation's website activated the online sale of tickets for the Night visit at the Dalí Theatre-Museum in Figueres. Entrance is limited to 500 people.

This year's edition takes place from 31 July to 31 August, from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m., the door closes at 12:30 at night or when the 500 tickets are sold out.

The Fundació Gala-Salvador Dalí gains cause against the self-named "Dalí Museum" in Berlin.

In early 2009, the German company Dalí-Museum Berlin GmbH announced the opening, in February 2009 on Berlin’s Leipziger Platz, of a show entitled “DALÍ - DIE AUSSTELLUNG” (DALÍ - THE EXHIBITION) displaying graphic works and sculptures attributed to Salvador Dalí.

The individual ticket purchase in advance is already available to visit the Dalí Theatre-Museum in Figueres from 15 July to 31 in August, at 9 o'clock and from 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. You can buy those tickets at the Servicaixa cash dispensers of “la Caixa”. There is a unique price of 11 Euros. With this ticket, you will access the museum through a specific door without queueing.

Like in previous years, you may also buy the ticket in advance for the Night visit in August (from 31 July to 31 August) and, in this case, directly in this website.

On Friday 2nd of July, Jimmy Carter and some members of his family visited the Dalí Theatre-Museum in Figueres, accompanied by Ramon Boixadós, President of the Fundació Gala-Salvador Dalí and Montse Aguer, Director of the Centre of Dalinian Studies.

After their visit of one hour and a half, the former President of the United States told that he was more impressed than what he expected, and that he considers himself a great admirer of Salvador Dalí.

Eleanor Morse passed away on 1st July. She was 97 years old. Together with her husband, Reynolds Morse, founded the Salvador Dalí Museum in Saint Petersburg (Florida) in 1982. They donated to the museum their huge collection of Salvador Dalí works, becoming the point of reference in America. It is the most important private collection of Dalí works in the world. Reynolds Morse had passed away in 2000 at the age of 85.

The JazzPera Festival 2010 will be held in three different places, one of which being the Gala Dalí Castle in Púbol, like in previous years. The concert will be offered by Mmm...Cole Porter, a group composed of Clara Luna (singer), José Alberto Medina (piano), Rai Ferrer (bass) and Xavi Maureta (drums). It will start at 10 p.m. in the Castle's gardens.
