The Sakip Sabanci Museum in Istanbul, Turkey, standing on a magnificent site on the Bosporus, will be running the exhibition Salvador Dalí, a Surrealist in Istanbul, which will be on show from 20 September to 30 January 2009.

The Museum of Modern Art opened the exhibition Dalí: Paintings & Films, the first show to focus on the profound relationship between the paintings and films of Salvador Dalí. It is on view from June 29 to September 15, 2008.

The Gala-Salvador Dalí Foundation presented its Annual Report corresponding to year 2007. The Foundation also showed the media the very last acquisition, two oils from Dalí's young period:

Coinciding with the reaponening of the Houses-Museum in Púbol and Portlligat, the Dalí Foundation inaugurated this year’s temporary exhibition Salvador Dalí and Magazines at the Gala Dalí Castle in Púbol, where it can be seen until 31 December 2008.

The Gala-Salvador Dalí Foundation has presented a previously unshown oil painting that now goes to form part of the exhibition on Salvador Dalí’s self-portraits being held at the Theatre-Museum and that will now be extended until the end of the summer 2008 season. The work is called Untitled. Self-Portrait Splitting into Three or Harlequin, ca 1926, and comes from a private collection (see the on-line Catalogue Raisonné, no. 1015).

The amount of visitors to the Dalí museums during year 2007 is 1,302,347, this means an increase of 4.3% in comparison to year 2006.

The visitors figure corresponds to:

Dalí Theatre-Museum in Figueres and Dalí•Jewels gallery: 1,098,549 visitors (this represents an increase of 4.39 % in relation to year 2006).

Gala Dalí Castle in Púbol: 104,081 visitors (an increase of 6.96%).

Salvador Dalí house-museum in Portlligat: 99,717 visitors (an increase of 0.66 %).

On 25 October, the conclusions of the symposium Art, Science and Dalí were presented under the dome of the Dalí Theatre-Museum in Figueres.

The LACMA explores Dalí's surrealism through his relationship with this medium.

The Los Angeles County Museum of Art opened the exhibition Dalí, Paintings & Films, which was closed at the Tate Modern (London) last month. It can be seen in the city which popularized cinema from 14 October until 6 January 2008. Representing the Gala-Salvador Dalí Foundation, co-organizers of the show, its Managing Director, Joan Manuel Sevillano attended the official opening.

The Gala-Salvador Dalí Foundation inaugurated an exhibition on Salvador Dalí at the EMMA (museum of modern art in Espoo), Finland, which can be seen until 16 december, under the title of Salvador Dalí – Surrealist!
