Workshop at Dalí Museum: Let's celebrate Carnival with a Surrealist Dinner!
Our inspiration for this workshop comes, as always, from the life and work of Salvador Dalí. He used to say that painting and eating are almost the same thing and that eating is like looking at a painting. That might explain why his paintings are full of fried bacon, beans, lamb chops, sea urchins, fish, pomegranates, lobsters, bread, eggs, crayfish, spoons, forks, wine and water glasses, tables, tablecloths,...Shall we play, like he did, with all these eating things?

The Dalí Theatre-Museum in Figueres will participate in the ACUSTICA FESTIVAL by proposing a workshop entitled DALINIAN ORCHESTRAS.
Have you ever noticed how many instruments appear in Salvador Dalí works? Guitars, violins, mandolins, trombones, trumpets, surreal pianos, and even cellos attacked by bedside tables! Also double images of organs that look like towers or hats, bell towers, bells made of sugar, of skin…
After a walk through the museum to inspire us with Dalí’s work, accompanied by Petra Marta and with some imagination, you may create your own surreal instrument. And finally, all together, we will let the orchestra play!

Last news from Israel Courts
The Fundació Gala Salvador Dalí and Demart Pro Arte B.V. filed an action against VS Marketing (Israel 2005) ltd, Atid Brands Ltd, Yoav Hasson, Global International Brands Ltd. and Adv. Harel Lapidot in connection with the alledged rights over the work of Salvador Dalí entitled "El Triomf i el rodolí de la Gala i en Dalí". After 3 years of proceedings a settlement agreement was reached by virtue of which the respondents could use the work in very restricted conditions and provided they would not use the title of the work nor the name of Salvador Dalí or parts therein as a trademark. The agreement is contained in the Court Order dated June 30th 2011.
In October 2011, the Foundation had to file a petition for Contempt of Court since the respondents were infringing the agreed terms of the Order. The Court of First Intance held that the respondents had indeed infringed the Court Order, but did not impose any sanction on the basis that the respondents were not infringing anymore at the time of the decision being issued. The Foundation and Demart appealed said decision before the Supreme Court which has now granted its decision dated July 25th 2012 and has ruled that indeed a daily sanction of NIS 500 should be imposed to the respondents for any new infringements that are committed hereinafter.
The Foundation will closely follow up the development of this case in order to defend its interests and those of its licensees. Related news.
