There is a considerable presence of Duchamp in the Museum, even in its origin, because the Theatre-Museum can also be considered as a big ready-made piece. From Boîte en valise, a type of foldaway catalogue that contains reproductions of works of art, dedicated to Gala and Salvador Dalí, who wanted to show it unfolded in a cabinet in total disorder, we can mention the image of the Mona Lisa with moustache, with the suggestive inscription L.H.O.O.Q. The painter from Figueres explained regarding this creation that it had suffered an, “ultra-intellectual attack perpetrated by the Dadaist movement. Marcel Duchamp, in 1919, drew a moustache and goatee beard on a reproduction of the Mona Lisa; and below, sketched the famous inscription L.H.O.O.Q. (‘she has got a hot bum’)”.
