    Dalí versus Schaal

The temporary Dalí versus Schaal exhibition was inaugurated at the Gala Dalí Castle House-Museum in Púbol. The event was attended by Ramon Boixadós, Chairman of the Gala-Salvador Dalí Foundation, Montse Aguer, Director of the Centre for Dalinian Studies, and Màrius Carol, Director of Communications of Grup Godó, La Vanguardia newspaper editor and writer. Among other works, he is author of the Les seduccions de Júlia (The Seductions of Julia), with which he won the Ramon Llull 2002 award and which is set in the last stage of Salvador Dalí's life story.

The exhibition is housed in the Púbol Castle House-Museum and is curated by Montse Aguer, who is also the author of the catalogue texts along with the researcher Marc Aufraise. Assisted by sponsorship from the "la Caixa" savings bank, the catalogue has been published by Distribucions d'Art Surrealista, with design entrusted to Bis Dixit and printing to Gràfiques Trema.

Exhibition at the Julien Levy Gallery in New York (1939)", "The exhibition contains sixty photographs that Eric Schaal took of Dalí engaged in various projects, as well as others of the two men together. It has been divided into seven thematic areas: "Portraits", "The Dalí Dream of Venus (1939)", "The Face of War (1941)", "(1939-1940)", "Dalí at Hampton ManorWhat Dalí Thinks About (1942)", and "Salvador Dalí-Eric Schaal (1939)". These photographs are a selection from the Schaal collection that the Dalí Foundation acquired in 2005 and that consists in 218 negatives, 68 period copies on paper, 43 slides and the corresponding public showing rights.
