    Dalí and his workshops

From 15 March to 31 December 2013, the Gala-Dalí Castle of Pubol hosted  a temporary exhibition dedicated  to the different workshops Dalí had in his lifetime.

The exhibition was inaugurated by the Dalí Foundation's Chairman, Ramon Boixadós, Maestro Antoni Rosa Marbà, the musical adviser of the Foundation, Antoni Pitxot, the director of the Dalí Theatre-Museum, and Montse Aguer, the director of the Centre for Dalinian Studies.

Exhibition Content

This exhibition is the result of the research carried out by the Centre for Dalinian Studies on  Dalí's workshops. The exhibitions shows 42 photographs  of different workshops of Dalí around the world, such as Figueres, Portlligat, Paris, Roquebrune (France), New York, Hampton Manor (Virginia), BurBank and Pebble Beach (California). A couple of books and magazines are also exhibited in relation with   this subject, such as 50 secrets of craftmanship.

The pictures exhibited have been taken by  photographers such as  Numa Blanc Fils, Luc Bouchage, Brangulí, Melitó Casals "Meli", Francesc Català Roca, Joseph Foret, Julian P. Graham, Juan Gyenes, Philippe Halsman, Oriol Maspons/Julio Ubiña, Xavier Miserachs, Carlos Pérez de Rozas, Eric Schaal, Bradley Smith, Lies Wiegman and many others.

Thanks' to those workshops; whether they are stable or ephemeral,  we can follow Dalí's life and work. The images exhibited as well as some  of Dalí's writings help us better understand the complexity of the artist, his construction, and his creative process -which can be as important as the final work, always full of hidden meanings and new interpretations, and constantly questioning the spectators .
