A talk by Mariona Seguranyes, Doctor in Art History about the work and the life of Evarist Vallès, friend of Dalí, ten years after his death: Dalí gave him a room in his museum to expose its works in a permanent way.

Place: Dome of Teatre-Museu Dalí
As occurs each year, the evening before the launch of the Dalí by Night season, members are offered a festive event at the Dalí Theatre-Museum, arranged exclusively for them.
This year, the evening will start with a concert of Spanish classical music given by the Acord group, made up of fifteen guitarists. After the concert, members can enjoy the traditional stroll around the lit-up museum. We will finish by sharing in a glass of Catalan champagne (cava).

"Best photo around the Dalí Museums", opened to photographers from all over the world. Event organized by Dalícatessen in collaboration with Friends of the Dalí Museums.
The picture must be of the outside of the Museums.

Guided visit to the Sedentary People exhibition

Place: marquee on Rambla de Figueres
Two guided visits have been arranged to the exhibition Sedentary People, which will be set up in a marquee on Rambla de Figueres from 11 June to 15 July. This exhibition explains how the first inhabitants of Catalonia in the Neolithic era went through a process towards a sedentary lifestyle.
The intention is to have members go on this visit in the company of their grandchildren, as long as they have reserved in advance by phoning the entity or by e-mail.

Place: Gala-Dalí Castle in Púbol
We will be celebrating the arrival of summer with a special evening: the curator of the temporary exhibition at Púbol, Ms Juliette Murphy, of the Gala-Salvador Dalí Foundation’s Conservation and Restoration Department, will be presenting the exhibition to us, devoted this year to a graphic work by Salvador Dalí, created in 1976 on the subject of alchemy, L'Alchimie des Philosophes.
We will then have light refreshments in the back yard of the Castle before attending a jazz concert to be held in the Castle gardens within the framework of the Pera'09 Jazz Festival.

Place: Figueres Bus Station
Fontfroide abbey, one of France’s largest Cistercian abbeys, predecessor of Poblet and having a magnificent garden with 2 500 rosebushes, will be the first destination of the outing. There, we will be going on a guided visit and then having lunch in the abbey’s restaurant. We will then be going on to the city of Montpellier to visit its fine-art museum, the Musée Fabre.

An outing that will be taking us in the morning to the Centre de Cultura Contemporània in Barcelona, where we will be taken on a guided visit of the temporary exhibition Illuminations. Visionary Catalonia devoted to the artists and thinkers whose determination and learning opened up the doors of modernity to Catalonia over the course of eight centuries.
Then in the evening we will be going to the Teatre Nacional de Catalunya to see a play by Bernard Shaw, Heartbreak House.

Talk "Discover the hidden collection of Dali Museum"

A new cycle begins with this talk about the works kept in the reserve store of the Dalí Theatre-Museum in Figueres.
The idea behind this cycle is to acquaint members with works not available to the general public.
On this occasion, Carme Ruiz of the Centre for Dalinian Studies will be offering us some thoughts on and an analysis of two works dating from the artist’s last period.
