Dalí and his workshops

From 15 March to 31 December there is a temporary exhibition devoted to the many workshops Dalí had in his lifetime.

The result of the research carried out by the Centre for Dalinian Studies offers us and exhibition Dalí’s workshops. 42 photographs are shown of different workshops such as the ones in Figueres, Portlligat, Paris, Roquebrune (France), New York, Hampton Manor (Virginia), BurBank and Pebble Beach (California). A couple of books and magazines related to this subject are also exhibited, such as 50 secrets of craftsmanship.

The photographers are Numa Blanc Fils, Luc Bouchage, Brangulí, Melitó Casals “Meli”, Francesc Català Roca, Joseph Foret, Julian P. Graham, Juan Gyenes, Philippe Halsman, Oriol Maspons/Julio Ubiña, Xavier Miserachs, Carlos Pérez de Rozas, Eric Schaal, Bradley Smith, Lies Wiegman and many others.

It is through these workshops, either stable or ephemeral, that we can establish a route through Dalí’s life and work. The images and writings help us better understand the complexity of the artist, his construction, and his creative process which can be as important as the final work, always full of hidden meanings and new interpretations, in which the viewer becomes a participant.
