News. Montse Aguer receives the Saint George Cross

Montse Aguer i Teixidor received tonight at the National Art Museum of Catalonia (MNAC) the Government of Catalonia’s highest distinction, the Sant George Cross, which was presented by the Rt. Hon. Pasqual Maragall, President of the Government, in recognition of her role as a cultural promoter, “for her outstanding work as Director of the Centre for Dalinian Studies of the Gala-Salvador Dalí Foundation, which promotes worldwide knowledge of the figure and oeuvre of the great Catalan and universal artist. The award is also for her effective contribution as curator of Dalí Year 2004 to the success of an international event that served as a point of reference within its sphere”.

In this year’s edition, the medal was also awarded to other personalities, such as professor Fàtima Bosch i Tubert (like Montse Aguer, also from Figueres), the politician and historian Francesc Ferrer i Gironès, the painter Àngels Santos Torroella, the photographer Pilar Aymerich, the professor and former Director-General of UNESCO, Frederic Mayor Zaragoza, the writer Rosa Regàs i Pagès and the fashion designer Manuel Pertegaz.
