Observations

According to documentation at our disposal, this work was exhibited unfinished at the exhibition in the Julien Levy Gallery in New York from 22 April to 20 May 1941, which subsequently travelled to Chicago and Los Angeles, under the title Sketch for the Portrait of His Excellency Don Juan Cardenas, Spanish Ambassador.
