Investment in the work, carried out by the company ELECNOR, was 510,860 euros. The new lounge receives the illustrious Empord\u00e0 painter\u2019s name under a collaboration agreement signed between the Dal\u00ed Foundation and AENA (Aeropuertos Espa\u00f1oles y Navegaci\u00f3n A\u00e9rea \u2013 Spanish Airports and Flight Navigation), coinciding with Dal\u00ed Centenary. The lounge is decorated with reproductions of the works <em>Molecular Equestrian Figure, The Bread Basket, Galatea of the Spheres, Port Alguer, Gala Naked Looking at the Sea Where 18 Metres Away There Arises President Lincoln and Wind Palace.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Features and Location<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This new VIP Lounge, whose main entrance gives onto the airport\u2019s inner concourse, has a surface area of 380 square metres, capacity for some 90 people and forecast annual passenger transit of some 20,000 clients each year. This means it has an area 125% larger than the previous Barcelona VIP Lounge which, owing to the enlargement work carried out in Terminal A\u2019s Module 5, has been moved to these new premises. The VIP Lounge has been designed to offer a high level of comfort for passengers on the Airlines\u2019 luxury classes, and to holders of Priority Pass cards. Among the services offered are television sets, fax and Internet access, flight-information monitors, loudspeaker system, piped music, press service, rooms with phone booths and left-luggage office. The VIP Lounge\u2019s information and passenger-attention service is run by the company Mantres, while food is under the charge of Elite Aeropuertos.<\/p>\n<p>The lounge design stands out for its natural lighting, achieved thanks to windows allowing outdoor light to enter combined with indirect low standard-lamp lighting to ensure suitable light levels and lend warmth to the area. The lounge also has movable curved screens that allow different areas of the lounge space to be created, while the materials ensure a sensation of comfort and lightness, with features such as transparent sections of glass and chromed fittings, maple wood, wenge and grey-green quartzite. This lounge forms part of the current airport and facilities improvement works within the framework of the Barcelona Plan.
