Cette expression si po\u00e9tique s\u2019inspire, comme Dal\u00ed l\u2019explique dans <em>La vie secr\u00e8te de Salvador Dal\u00ed,<\/em> d\u2019une phrase de L\u00eddia de Cadaqu\u00e9s\u00a0: \u00ab\u00a0[\u2026] Lydia le pluma et le duvet voleta dans notre chambre. D\u2019un autre coup de couteau, elle l\u2019\u00e9ventra et, de ses doigts d\u00e9goulinants de sang, en retira les abats qu\u2019elle posa dans une assiette sur la table de cristal, non loin d\u2019un livre tr\u00e8s pr\u00e9cieux sur Giovanni Bellini. Voyant que je me levais avec inqui\u00e9tude pour \u00e9carter le livre, Lydia sourit am\u00e8rement et me dit\u00a0: \u00ab Le sang ne t\u00e2che pas. Le miel est plus doux que le sang. Moi, je suis le sang et toutes les autres femmes sont le miel. Mes fils, en ce moment, sont contre le sang et courent apr\u00e8s la miel \u00bb. <\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify; line-height: 150%\"><span style=\"line-height: 150%; font-size: 10pt\">Cette \u0153uvre pr\u00e9sente par ailleurs un grand int\u00e9r\u00eat en ce qu\u2019elle est l\u2019\u00e9tude d\u2019une toile aujourd\u2019hui disparue, <em>Le miel est plus doux que le sang,<\/em> dat\u00e9e de 1927 [n\u00ba de cat. <a href=\"\/cataleg_raonat\/fitxa_obra.html?text=194&amp;obra=194\">194<\/a>]. Dans l\u2019<em>\u00c9tude <\/em>que nous pr\u00e9sentons aujourd\u2019hui, on rel\u00e8ve les m\u00eames \u00e9l\u00e9ments iconographiques que ceux qui font l\u2019originalit\u00e9 de l\u2019\u0153uvre achev\u00e9e\u00a0: les appareils, la t\u00eate coup\u00e9e, le sang, l\u2019\u00e2ne en putr\u00e9faction&#8230;, autant d\u2019\u00e9l\u00e9ments qui renvoient \u00e0 la \u00ab\u00a0nouvelle esth\u00e9tique\u00a0\u00bb du peintre, et dans lesquels on peut constater les premi\u00e8res r\u00e9f\u00e9rences claires au surr\u00e9alisme. Cette \u00ab\u00a0nouvelle esth\u00e9tique\u00a0\u00bb est celle qu\u2019il annonce formellement dans certains de ses textes publi\u00e9s par <em>L\u2019Amic de les Arts,<\/em> tels que \u00ab\u00a0Sant Sebasti\u00e0\u00a0\u00bb ou \u00ab\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"line-height: 150%; font-size: 10pt\">La meva amiga i la platja<\/span><span style=\"line-height: 150%; font-size: 10pt\">\u00a0\u00bb, et dont il parle aussi \u00e0 son ami, le po\u00e8te Garc\u00eda Lorca, dans les lettres qu\u2019ils \u00e9changent durant cette p\u00e9riode. <\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify; line-height: 150%\"><span style=\"line-height: 150%; font-size: 10pt\">Nous savons \u00e9galement que l\u2019\u0153uvre picturale de Dal\u00ed ne peut \u00eatre dissoci\u00e9e de son \u0153uvre \u00e9crite. Ce trait caract\u00e9ristique du parcours artistique du peintre se manifeste pr\u00e9cis\u00e9ment pour la premi\u00e8re fois \u00e0 ce moment-l\u00e0, pendant la gestation de <em>Le miel est plus doux que le sang<\/em> et, par cons\u00e9quent, de son \u00e9tude. Ces toiles, tout comme le texte, marquent dans l\u2019art de Dal\u00ed un tournant qui fait suite \u00e0 une p\u00e9riode de plusieurs ann\u00e9es durant lesquelles il a exp\u00e9riment\u00e9 toutes sortes de styles modernes et contemporains. <\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify; line-height: 150%\"><span style=\"line-height: 150%; font-size: 10pt\">Aussi, <em>Le miel est plus doux que le sang<\/em> et son \u00e9tude pr\u00e9paratoire sont-elles des \u0153uvres qui indiquent un processus de modification stylistique o\u00f9 figurent certains \u00e9l\u00e9ments de l\u2019\u00e9tape pr\u00e9c\u00e9dente, notamment les t\u00eates coup\u00e9es, qui r\u00e9v\u00e8lent l\u2019empreinte de son nouveau classicisme et surtout l\u2019influence de Picasso (<em>Table devant la mer<\/em>, 1926 [n\u00ba cat. <a href=\"\/cataleg_raonat\/fitxa_obra.html?text=187&amp;obra=187\">187<\/a>]\u00a0; <em>Nature morte au clair de lune<\/em>, 1926 [n\u00ba cat. <a href=\"\/cataleg_raonat\/fitxa_obra.html?text=196&amp;obra=196\">196]<\/a>\u00a0; <em>Composition aux trois figures. \u00ab\u00a0Acad\u00e9mie n\u00e9ocubiste\u00a0\u00bb<\/em>, 1926 [n\u00ba cat. <a href=\"\/cataleg_raonat\/resultats_cerca.html?text=171\">171<\/a>]), ou les objets qui deviennent des \u00ab\u00a0appareils\u00a0\u00bb et qui d\u00e9notent l\u2019int\u00e9r\u00eat pour le \u00ab\u00a0machinisme\u00a0\u00bb (<em>D\u00e9part. \u00ab\u00a0Hommage \u00e0 la \u2018Gazette Fox\u2019\u00a0\u00bb<\/em>, 1926 [n\u00ba cat. <a href=\"\/cataleg_raonat\/resultats_cerca.html?text=154\">154<\/a>], <em>Nature morte au clair de lune mauve<\/em>, 1926 [num\u00e9ro cat. <a href=\"\/cataleg_raonat\/fitxa_obra.html?text=186&amp;obra=186\">186<\/a>] ou <em>Nature morte. \u00ab\u00a0Invitation au r\u00eave\u00a0\u00bb<\/em>, 1926 [n\u00ba cat. <a href=\"\/cataleg_raonat\/fitxa_obra.html?text=172&amp;obra=172\">172<\/a>]), ainsi que les premi\u00e8res influences d\u2019autres artistes contemporains comme Joan Mir\u00f3, Yves Tanguy et surtout Giorgio de Chirico. <\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify; line-height: 150%\"><span style=\"line-height: 150%; font-size: 10pt\">La lecture attentive de l\u2019article \u00ab\u00a0Sant Sebasti\u00e0\u00a0\u00bb nous am\u00e8ne directement \u00e0 l\u2019interpr\u00e9tation que fait Dal\u00ed, des \u0153uvres de De Chirico surtout. Celles-ci fournissent \u00e0 Dal\u00ed la base pour <em>Appareil et main<\/em>, 1927 [n\u00ba cat. <a href=\"\/cataleg_raonat\/fitxa_obra.html?text=195&amp;obra=195\">195<\/a>] et pour <em>Le miel est plus doux que le sang<\/em> ainsi que son \u00e9tude. L\u2019impact visuel est \u00e9galement \u00e9vident lorsqu\u2019on observe les \u00ab\u00a0appareils\u00a0\u00bb pr\u00e9sents dans ces \u0153uvres, ainsi que leur lumi\u00e8re dure, forte et les ombres obscures. R\u00e9sultat, cette nouvelle sc\u00e8ne est peupl\u00e9e d\u2019\u00e9l\u00e9ments qui ont une certaine affinit\u00e9 stylistique avec Tanguy et Mir\u00f3 (encore qu\u2019ils n\u2019en d\u00e9rivent pas forc\u00e9ment directement).
