Manuscripts make up one of the most significant portions of the documentation preserved at the CED. Their study allows us to trace the extensive work of Dalí as a writer. There are a total of 680 documents, including notebooks that constitute the artist’s youth diaries and drafts of articles published in Surrealist magazines such as Minotaure and Le Surréalisme au Service de la Révolution.

Also included are some of the lectures he delivered during his life. Notably, there are 1,728 pages that make up his autobiography Secret Life. The richness of this collection made it possible to publish, for the first time, the painter’s complete written works in both Catalan and Spanish, especially the volumes dedicated to poetry, narrative, stage design projects, and essays.
