DESCRIPTION:
Did you know that Salvador Dalí was passionate about science? During this visit, students will take a historical journey through the most significant scientific events of the 20th century that inspired the artist to paint some of his works. Through this journey, we will explore pieces such as Gala Placidia, Atomic Leda, and Nude Gala Looking at the Sea, which at 18 meters shows the image of President Lincoln, among others.
The goal is to deepen understanding of one of the most distinctive aspects of Dalí’s work—his mystic-nuclear phase—and to learn about the scientific themes that influenced both his painting and his literary work.
CONTENTS:
Introduction to the relationship between art and science through the works of Salvador Dalí.
Exploration of the scientific concepts that influenced the creation of Dalí’s surrealist works.
Analysis of the impact of physics, mathematics, and atomic theory on the creation of surreal images.
Visit to representative works from Dalí’s mystic-nuclear phase.
REMARKS:
