DESCRIPTION:
Surrealism is an artistic movement that goes beyond the real, exploring everything imaginary and irrational. At the Dalí Museum, we can find images like melting clocks and portraits, sofas shaped like lips, and stone monsters with drawers, among many other surreal images that seem to come straight from our dreams. During the visit, we will explore these elements and ask: “Why does all this happen?” The answer is simple: “And why not?”
This interactive itinerary invites children to discover the art of Salvador Dalí and Surrealism, unveiling the world’s largest surrealist object.
CONTENTS:
Discovery of Salvador Dalí’s paintings, with special focus on the portraits he created.
Introduction to photographic techniques and the process of creating a portrait.
Stimulation of creativity through making their own portrait and exploring emotions through imagery.
FINAL ACTIVITY:
At the end of the visit, each participant will create their own surreal object on magnetic boards, combining elements to form new realities and imaginary animals. Afterwards, each creation will be given a name.
REMARKS:
This is not a workshop. In case of bad weather, the activity cannot take place.
If the group arrives late to the visit, the final activity may be cancelled.
Activity suggested for Middle school students (ages 10-12).
