News. Miquel Roca, new Life Patron of the Dalí Foundation

Figueres, 10 October 2011

The Fundació Gala-Salvador Dalí named Mr. Miquel Roca life patron. The lawyer replaces Mr. Francesc Vergés, who passed away last 9 July. Mr. Vergés was once General Secretary of the Dalí Foundation and used to be Member of the Board of Trustees since its creation in 1983.

The naming took place on 10 October, during the celebration of the extraordinary session, in which the 2012 Budget and Action Programme is approved.

Miquel Roca
Cauderan, France, 1940
Lawyer and Law teacher, he founded in 1996 the firm Roca Junyent Advocats Associats.

In 2006, he was honoured with the highest prize given by the Catalan Government, the Creu de Sant Jordi, and in 2008 he was named doctor honoris causa by the Girona University. He has been the Dalí Foundation's legal advisor since 1997.

By appointing him, the Board of Trustees acknowledges his contribution to the development of Salvador Dalí’s mission. With him as legal advisor, the institution has taken important steps in pacifying and protecting Dalí’s immaterial rights, as well as in fighting against fraud. This has allowed the Foundation consolidate as a world reference of the artist and as exclusive manager of his legacy.
