string(650) "El grabado refleja la estrecha complicidad entre Salvador Dalí y el poeta inglés Edward James, quienes se conocieron en Palamós, en la Costa Brava, durante el verano de 1935, en Mas Juny, la masía del pintor catalán de renombre internacional José María Sert i Badia (1874-1945).
La dedicatoria “A Edward James”, junto con la composición de la estampa −que incorpora motivos inspirados en Les Chants de Maldoror y en el paisaje de la costa catalana− sugiere que realización coincide con el inició de la profunda amistad que ambos mantuvieron durante los años en que Edward James se convirtió en un mecenas de Dalí [ver OG 020].
