string(658) "Aquest gravat fa palesa l’estreta complicitat entre Salvador Dalí i el poeta anglès Edward James, que es van conèixer a Palamós, a la Costa Brava, durant l’estiu de 1935, a Mas Juny, la masia del pintor català de renom internacional Josep Maria Sert i Badia (1874–1945).
La dedicatòria “A Edward James”, juntament amb la composició de l’estampa –que incorpora motius inspirats en Les Chants de Maldoror i en el paisatge de la costa catalana– suggereix que la realització coincideix amb l’inici de la profunda amistat que tots dos van mantenir durant els anys en què Edward James es va convertir en mecenes de Dalí [vegeu OG 020].
