The newspaper archive constitutes an extensive documentary collection comprising 68,600 digitized articles covering the period from 1918 to 1989, which allows for the study of Dalí’s activity throughout his career. Of these articles, around 35,000 are press clippings that are part of the artist’s personal collection, as Dalí had subscribed to various agencies that provided him with news from newspapers and magazines where his name appeared.

As for periodical publications, we have a collection of more than 5,000 magazines, both local and national or international in scope, among which notable examples include L’Amic de les Arts, Documents, La Gaceta Literaria, Minotaure, Le Surréalisme au Service de la Révolution, Valori Plastici, and Variétés.

An in-depth analysis of this collection reveals the artist’s increasing presence in the printed media and, at the same time, highlights his level of involvement in the projects he took part in. Through publications such as Dali News, a newspaper for which he edited two issues between 1945 and 1947, or issue 522 of Vogue magazine, which he created on the occasion of the publication’s 50th anniversary (1971–1972), the artist aimed for total conception and design.
