DESCRIPTION:

The visit to the Gala Dalí Castle in Púbol is a fascinating experience that transports students to a world full of art, magic, and history. During the visit, students will discover how Salvador Dalí decorated the castle with great imagination, creating a unique place full of surprises.

For students in Elementary and Middle school, we will focus on the animals and fantastic beings that inhabit the castle. Students will be able to see furniture shaped like animals, doors that seem to come to life, and even radiators that look like they belong to another world.

For students in High School, the visit centers on understanding Dalí’s surrealism, an artistic style full of fantasy and dreams. Students will learn about the stories hidden behind the castle’s objects, from paintings to strange furniture. Each decorative element has a special meaning that students can decipher as they explore the castle. The goal is to help them understand how Dalí created a visual universe that broke the rules of reality and opened doors to a world where anything is possible

This visit not only allows students to learn about the art and history of Dalí and Gala but also fosters their creativity, helping them see art in a new and exciting way and appreciate the importance of imagination in artistic creation.

CONTENTS:

IIntroduction to the figures of Gala and Salvador Dalí.

Active observation and exploration of the rooms in Púbol Castle.

Creative expression through participation in the search activity.

FINAL ACTIVITY:

At the end of the visit, we will carry out a creative activity where all students can decorate paper shields inspired by the elements and works we have discovered in the castle. The shield is a very ancient symbol used by knights to represent themselves or their families, and Dalí also played with these symbols.

Students can choose elements such as animals, surrealist objects, or other images from the castle to create their own shield. This activity will help them understand the basic concepts of composition and the symbolism of heraldic shields. Additionally, we will encourage their creativity and help them explore how ideas and emotions can be expressed through shapes and colors.

REMARKS:

Activity designed for elementary school children (6-11 years old).

In case of bad weather, the activity cannot take place. In this case, a kit will be provided to the school to carry out the activity on-site.

If the group arrives late to the visit, the final activity may be canceled.

DESCRIPTION:

Animals are key figures in Dalí’s work: cats, dogs, flies, ants, birds, fish, and fantastic creatures, each with its own symbolism.

This itinerary introduces students to Dalí and Surrealism through animals—real or imaginary—found in the museum and his artworks.

Fascinated by eggs, Dalí turned them into symbols, like those that crown Torre Galatea in Figueres. The hard shell hides secrets, fears, treasures… and animals! During the visit, parts of animals will emerge from a magical egg for students to combine and create a new surreal creature.

CONTENTS:

Discovery of Salvador Dalí’s pictorial work, with special focus on the portraits he created.

Introduction to photographic techniques and the process of creating a portrait.

Stimulation of creativity through the creation of their own portrait and the exploration of emotions through the image.

FINAL ACTIVITY:

At the end of the visit, we will test our creativity! Using magnetic boards, we will combine parts of animals to bring to life new surreal creatures and give them names.

REMARKS:

It’s not a workshop. In case of bad weather, the activity cannot be carried out.

If the group arrives late to the visit, the final activity may be canceled.

Activity suggested for students in Elementary School (ages 6–9).

DESCRIPTION:

The Dalí Theatre-Museum in Figueres was a special place for Salvador Dalí. There, he gathered his treasures: melting clocks, drawers, red lips, canes, flies, bread, eggs, and, above all, his muse, Gala. He created the “Treasure Room,” lined with red velvet like a jewelry box.

This itinerary introduces students to Dalí and Surrealism through his most iconic symbols. The drawers, often present in his works, hide dreams, fears, and secrets. During the visit, a magical hat will reveal objects related to Dalí’s treasures, becoming a surreal and fun element!

CONTENTS:

Introduction to the figure of Salvador Dalí and Surrealism.

Identification of recurring elements in Dalí’s work.

Active observation and exploration of the rooms in the Dalí Theatre-Museum.

Creative expression through participation in the treasure hunt activity.

FINAL ACTIVITY:

After the visit, the children wear a headband with a drawer that we provide for the activity, choose a symbolic object, and take a photo to keep as a memory of the experience.

REMARKS:

This is not a workshop. In case of bad weather, the activity cannot be carried out.

If the group arrives late to the visit, the final activity may be canceled.

Activity recommended for children in early childhood education (ages 3-5).
