His collaborations with leading figures such as Elsa Schiaparelli, with whom he co-created pieces that went on to become landmarks in the history of 20th-century fashion, are famous. He also worked closely with such major names as Coco Chanel, Christian Dior and Jean Dessès, amongst many others. But Dalí did not limit himself to designing dresses or haute couture. He also helped design and create fabrics, accessories and packaging for consumer goods. In the field of the specialized press, he collaborated on editorials for some of the most prestigious publications in the industry, such as Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar. Even after his death, in 1989, his influence remains quite notable. Maison Schiaparelli, Dior and Paco Rabanne are some of the houses that continue to find inspiration in Dalí and, in so doing, help to ensure that his legacy in the fashion world lives on.
