Salvador Dalí: Images of a creator

Salvador Dalí: Images of a creator is the new exhibition of photographs which can be seen at the Gala Dalí Castle Museum-House in Púbol up to 1 November 2000.

In the intimate world of a genius like Salvador Dalí there are particularly legendary characteristics, one being the intensity of the moment of creation in his studio and the other the unconditional and omnipresent support of his muse. Púbol Castle shows both aspects. It was at the castle that Dalí painted his last works, though the castle itself is above all the material expression of a brimming creative effort devoted exclusively to Gala.

This selection of photographs, some of them previously unpublished, brings visitors to the castle closer to an artist obsessively dedicated to his work, in which Gala is a constant emotional and iconographic point of reference. In addition to their documentary function, these photographs, from the Gala-Salvador Dalí Foundation's Dalí Study Centre, also have the artistic quality of authors such as Carlos Pérez de Rozas, Philippe Halsman, H. Manuel, W. Vennemann and Cecil Beaton.
