Preservation - Preventive conservation

Transporting the works

Each year, the Foundation organises and collaborates in a series of travelling exhibitions held throughout the world. The Department is responsible for all aspects related to the conservation of the works while on loan and exhibition in order to minimise the risk factors associated with any movement of artworks. Various preparative procedures are carried out to ensure the optimum condition of the works, such as revising the state of conservation; completing condition reports on departure and arrival; checking and improving frames; travelling as couriers; supervising packaging and handling; and the storage and exhibition of the works during their transportation and installation in the museum where they will be shown.
